5 WARNING SIGNS THAT YOUR VAGINA IS UNHEALTHY
Did you know that more than 75% of women are likely to get a vaginal yeast infection? An unhealthy vagina can seriously affect your libido and fertility. It can affect your relationship, cause stress and lower your self-confidence.
Unfortunately, any small infection can be dangerous and cause health problems. If you notice anything else, see your gynecologist as soon as possible.
In the meantime, here are 5 warning signs that your vagina is unhealthy.
1. ITCHING AND BURNING
Constant burning and itching indicate multiple vaginal infections. The itching and burning occurs when the bad and harmful bacteria in your vagina outnumber the good bacteria. Itching and inflammation are symptoms of a yeast infection. Itching can be caused by creams, soaps, or birth control foam.
2. Bleeding during and after intercourse
Bleeding during or after intercourse can be a sign of a vaginal infection, vaginal rupture, sexually transmitted infections or vaginal dryness. Friction from intercourse can irritate dry skin and cause breakouts. Bleeding during or after intercourse during menopause can indicate cervical cancer. Remember that any abnormal bleeding should be a cause for concern and you should consult a gynecologist.
3. VACUUM ATROPHY
When your body produces less estrogen, your vagina becomes thin, dry, and inflamed. This condition is called vaginal atrophy and the most common symptom is painful intercourse. This disorder usually occurs after menopause and during breastfeeding.
4. BURN OR PURIFY
If you notice a bump on the outside of your vagina, you should see your gynecologist right away. This can be a sign of vaginal or vaginal cancer. This cancerous lump usually appears as a birthmark, but over time its color and texture change and it becomes a hard lump. Lumps usually appear near the clitoris and are usually dark brown or black in color. On the other hand, if you notice blisters, it could be a sign of an STD, specifically genital herpes.
5. PAINFUL URination
Painful urination can sometimes be a symptom of bacterial vaginosis or a yeast infection. Vaginal infections are often caused by using soaps, lotions, or wearing tampons for too long.
